Amateur Photographers Invited to Enter ‘Examiner’ 2020 Competition

Castleisland Camera Club did a bit of a cabinet reshuffle recently and is preparing for as busy a year as it put down in 2019.

With days out and improvement courses taken and members winning various competitions through their increasing skills levels, the club is looking forward to a full 2020 calendar.

Add in the outstanding success of the end of November exhibition and sale of work at the Ivy Leaf Art Centre.

Engage and Photograph

For this the club tasked its photographers to go out, engage and photograph members of the community locally and that added an extra dimension of interest to its end of year bash at the Ivy Leaf.

The Irish Examiner Readers Photography Competition 2020 is now open for entries.

If you’re a budding photographer or just like to take snaps on your compact camera or smartphone, The Irish Examiner wants you to share your best pictures with them.

Cash Prizes and Prestige

Each week two pictures will be chosen and featured on the Forum pages of their Saturday edition of ‘The Examiner’ and will go through to the 2020 Readers’ Photography Competition Final at the end of the year.

There is a prize of €1,000 for the overall winner at the end of the year and two runner up prizes of €250 each.
