Griffin Brothers Win Top National Health and Safety Award

Castleisland based Griffin Brothers Contracting Ltd was recently honoured with the President’s Award for the best national medium sized company at the 2020 National Irish Safety Organisation All-Ireland Occupational Safety Awards.

Health and safety has always been paramount for the company having also been an award recipient in 2018 and 2019.

Recognition of Excellence

The prestigious All Ireland Occupational Safety Awards are renowned for recognising excellence within the health and safety industry, and with the goal of improving occupational safety and health within the Irish workplace.

The 29th annual awards were hosted virtually online by the National Irish Safety Organisation. Winning the President’s award for best medium sized company in Ireland was a very proud moment for the company.

Culture of Health and Safety

The award recognises the continued dedication of all Griffin Brothers employees, sub-contractors and suppliers in supporting their proactive and continuous improvement culture with respect to health and safety.

Health and Safety manager for the company Tomás Foley who oversees the health and safety department of the business said that the company was delighted with the achievement.

“We invest heavily to ensure that our people and our systems are capable of delivering a best in class health and safety performance, regardless of the size or type of project we undertake.

“The continuous improvement is reflected in the NISO Awards received and our aim is to continue to improve into the future.

“We are well positioned to expand in the coming years, having the necessary key management, people and systems in place to meet growth expectations.

The family-run building and civil engineering contracting company was established by Monty Griffin in 1973.

Over the past fifty years, Griffin Brothers has worked on projects across a wide variety of sectors, from industrial and commercial to hospitality, demolition and bespoke private luxury homes.
