Everyone, Everywhere Invited to Experience Free Culture Night Events

On Friday 23 September, events will take place across Ireland as part of Culture Night. All; events are supported by the Arts Council of Ireland and in this county by Kerry County Council.

Everyone, everywhere, is invited on the night to discover and celebrate all that our culture is today. It is an annual all-island public event that celebrates culture, creativity, and the arts. All events are free.

Scartaglin: Launch of Handed Down Series 2022/23
Handed Down Series launch from 8.30pm-10pm at the Sliabh Luachra Cultural and Heritage Centre, Scartaglin.
Guest speaker, Matt Cranitch will outline what to expect this autumn / winter and spring in this popular Sliabh Luachra concert and lecture series. No booking required. Patrons are asked to be seated at 8:15pm. See: www.worldfiddledayscartaglin.ie

An Evening with Cormac Begley and Liam Ó Maonlaí
Muckross Traditional Farms Schoolhouse Cormac Begley, master concertina player from West Kerry combines with Liam Ó Maonlaí, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist of Hothouse Flowers

Knocknagoshel Culture Night
The Woman from Purple Mountain and traditional music and set dancing from 80pm to 10pm at Knocknagoshel Community Centre.
The Spike Players will produce a vibrant evening of diverse arts programming that includes two original works from local playwright Rita Kearney McCarthy: The Woman from Purple Mountain a one-act, and The Bog Man – a ten minute recitation.

The second half of the programme will feature local musician Katie Galvin on violin and her collaborator on concertina.

These young musicians will lead a sing-along and end with traditional set dancing.
All ages and no booking required.
