Jogging, running and walking enthusiasts in the Knocknagoshel area will have their very own Couch to 5k Programme to take part in from this Wednesday night, January 22.
It will be the start of a 10-week programmme and will be held at the Willie Walsh Memorial GAA Grounds .
“After the 10 week programme we will have a local 5k run. The program is being set up with the help of Knocknagoshel National School Parents’ Association,” said organising group member, Eileen O’Connor. (Pictured)
“We are hoping to get all of the school going children and their parents to participate and of course anyone else who is interested in taking up running.
It will be held Wednesday evenings at 7pm and Saturday mornings at 10:30am. A fee of €2 for adults and €1 for children will apply, said Eileen. As well as Eileen, the programme leaders will include: Richard Murphy, Liam Bell and Miriam Brosnan – all local people.
