Because our Friday Favourite is usually about looking back through the files we thought we’d do so on this Good Friday morning with a dual purpose. This morning’s 11am start to the annual Hospice Walk is the reason for the duality.
The Kerry Hospice Foundation is preparing for its annual Good Friday Morning Walk. The walk, which is in its 15th year, is one of the major fundraisers for the society each year.
Members of the Castleisland branch urge you to come out and walk tomorrow morning April 18th. Sponsorship cards are available at: Jack Shanahan’s, Phil Horan’s or Galwey Auctioneers. If you would prefer not to seek sponsorship you can give a personal donation on the day.
All funds raised in Kerry for Hospice remain in Kerry and so your contribution will go directly towards the development of the new in-patient unit which will be built at Kerry General Hospital. The Good Friday Walk will leave from Gael Aogáin at 11am sharp on Friday and will take up just one hour of your morning.
LOOKING BACK
Here’s a collection of photographs from the 2004 walk. The event has almost always been blessed with decent weather and let’s hope that tomorrow morning’s conditions will, likewise, oblige.
