Crag Cave Celebrates 25th

Crag Cave is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. A family day on Sunday (election count Sunday) went on all the fun-filled day long. There were on-going guided tours to the magical subterranean wonderland of stalagmites and stalactites.

Visitors of all ages were enthralled by the natural beauty of the caves as they have been in increasing numbers since it opened its doors away back on May 20-1989.

There was fantastic excitement for the novelty dog show and there were guest appearances form Minnie and Mickey mouse.

The non-stop cycle of entertainment included fun in the Crazy Cave, on the bouncy castle with lots of face painting and the atmosphere was just electric – according to a band of enthusiastic participants.

There were fascinating Falconry displays, and many children got up close and had personal encounters with the owls and the formidable Golden Eagle was a delight to many!

There was a juicy pig on the spit and all ages enjoyed the food from the Garden Restaurant both inside and outside in the courtyard.

The management and staff of Crag Cave wish to thank everyone who joined them on the  weekend to celebrate their 25th anniversary.

“It was lovely to see so many familiar faces and it was a fantastic day. The support we got from everybody here on the day was very much appreciated. There will be ongoing celebrations, promotions and special offers throughout the year.

On Saturday last the postponed Show-Jumping Ireland Pony Show was held in conjunction with the Castleisland Horse and Pony Club in brilliant sunshine at Crag Cave.

Participants came from all over Munster and beyond in the hopes of qualifying for the latter stages of the Show-Jumping Ireland competition of which the Castleisland show is a qualifier.
