Castleisland Golf Club’s Irish Mixed Foursomes team had a good run in the West Munster area section at the weekend. The team was fortunate to have this section of the competition on home turf and all visitors were very impressed with the condition of the course.
A lot of work had been put in over the past number of weeks by workers and volunteers and that, combined with the spectacular weather, ensured a pleasurable weekend’s golfing for all involved.
The natives won their first round match against Doneraile on Saturday morning and booked a place for Sunday morning against Ceann Sibeal.
Another win here saw them go through to the area final in the afternoon against Tralee. While a good battle was certainly put up by Castleisland they did lose out to the strong Tralee side.
