Because of the special nature of this year’s Patrick O’Keeffe Traditional Music Festival Concert the demand for tickets is well past that of other years.
Tickets for the Johnny O’Leary Memorial Concert can be had at €20 each from the River Island Hotel on 066 71 42555.
The Sunday night, October 26th., concert will be pure Sliabh Luachra musically and will mark the 10th anniversary of the passing of Johnny O’Leary. It will start at 8pm. sharp.
A panel of invited, guest musicians will appear on the night and the event will be introduced by Paudie O’Connor and Peter Browne will be master of ceremonies.
Elsewhere there will be singing sessions and fiddle classes and a class for brushing up on your Cúpla Focal and an art exhibition and everything else that usually happens in the course of these weekends.
The festival, which was established in 1993, will be held this bank holiday weekend from Friday, October 24th to and including Monday 27th.
