A quick reminder: The Island Players open at the Ivy Leaf Art Centre 8pm tonight with their 50th production since their formation in 1978.
This week’s production is the hilarious comedy Run For Your Wife by Ray Cooney.
The plot revolves around John Smith – a London cabbie with his own taxi, a wife in Stratham, a wife in Wimbledon and a knife edge schedule. By strict adherence to his schedule he successfully conceals his double life. Unfortunately one night due to a mugging his schedule goes awry. The ensuing complications lead to a night of hilarious entertainment.
The play is produced by Jerome Stack and Aidan Reidy and the group has dedicated tonight’s opener as a fundraising event for the Build4Life Cystic Fibrosis Charity which raises funds to develop life-saving facilities for people with Cystic Fibrosis attending Cork University Hospital (CUH). Curtain up at 8pm and booking at 066 71 41135 and the play will run nightly to and including Sunday night.
