The celebrations are far from over for the all-conquering Castleisland Desmonds Ladies’ Club All-Ireland Intermediate Championship winning team. The new year of 2015 will begin with a victory banquet to celebrate their bountiful and highly successful year. The River Island Hotel, the team’s co-sponsors, will host the event on Saturday night, Janurary 3rd at 8pm.
On the night the team will be presented with their county intermediate and senior medals, along with their Munster and All-Ireland Intermediate winners’ medals. Tickets for the event are €30. A four-course meal and a disco is included. Tickets can be purchased from the ladies’ officers.
The club is promising ‘A Night of Blue and White’ which they hope will also be reflected in the dress code of the attendees. The team and management has had a long and tough campaign this season. While it all came to sweet fruition in Corofin on Saturday, November 29 there is still the matter of a county league title at stake for this amazingly talented team. Old and highly respected adversaries, Southern Gaels stand between the Desmonds women and a clean sweep of the trophy cabinets of the country in their division in 2014.
