In spite of invitations to sign and talk at book shops all over the country, the ‘Tough as Leather’ John Lenihan has made a two-hour clearing on this Friday for J.P. Griffin & Sons Newsagents. There, accompanied by author, Con Dennehy, he’ll sign copies of Tough as Leather – The Story of Sporting Legend John Lenihan between 1pm and 3pm.
John ‘appeared’ on the Ray Darcy Show on RTÉ Radio One on Thursday afternoon and the invitations began rolling in on the journey home.
On the following day he was a revered guest of honour at the Gael Scoil Aogáin graduation ceremony here in Castleisland.
Copies of the rapidly disappearing book are on sale at J.P. Griffin & Sons Newsagents and Lucky Lottery Shop in the Latin Quarter and they’re expecting a crowded house on Friday between lunchtime and 3pm.
The book is going very well, in fact. The latest indication from the author is that a re-run is in the immediate plans as requests for more in-store signings are being considered.
