The familiar, September-time buzz around the county can be explained away by the fact that Kerry teams are back in Croke Park on All-Ireland Final Day on Sunday 20th.
Taking full advantage of the almost annual buzz, St. Kieran’s GAA Club is delighted to announce details of its second All- Ireland Preview Night at Ó Riada’s Bar, Ballymacelligott on Thursday, September 17th at 9pm.
The event, the second in as many years, is facilitated by the success of Eamonn Fitzmaurice and his squad. It is being sponsored by the Castleisland based Den Joe’s American Style Family Restaurant and Apache Pizza.
Ardent Kerry Followers
“This time last year we were all wondering how it would go between Kerry and Donegal. Those ardent Kerry followers who were at Ó Riada’s Bar last year were well armed going to Croke Park with the details of what to expect – and they were amazed at the accuracy of the predictions,” said St. Kieran’s spokesman, Jackie Brosnan.
“This time it is our great rivals The Dubs and again, as everybody knows, it is very close to call so we are looking forward to a lively debate and expert insight from our panel on what is expected to be a great final.
“Following on from his brilliant presentation last year, Andrew Morrissey of Radio Kerry Big Breakfast Show will preside over the event. He will be and joined by a star studded line up including: Darragh Ó Sé, Denny Long and John Kennedy,” said Jackie. Admission on the night is €5 pay at the door.
St Kieran’s GAA Club is a divisional side which competes in the county senior, U-21 and minor football championships. It draws its pool of players from: Castleisland Desmonds; Ballymacelligott; Currow; Scartaglin; Cordal; Brosna and Knocknagoshel.
At the moment St. Kieran’s team management and players are busy preparing for the second round senior county football championship game against Kilcummin on October 3rd in Kilcummin.
Tickets for the Kerry V Dublin All-Ireland final are very scarce. A draw for four all-Ireland tickets and many other prizes will take place on the night. The tickets for the draw are €5 each. For those who cannot attend on the night, tickets are available at all the usual outlets in the district.
