It’s all go this term at St. Joseph’s Presentation Girls’ Secondary School as they prepare for the first of their Meet Our Legends days on Thursday.
At the end of last month they represented Kerry at the Student Enterprise Awards National Final in Croke Park .
On Saturday, teachers and pupils had a great day in Thomond Park – where they saw Munster go marching on against Scarlets.
Bank of Ireland Trip
“This was a trip we won from the Bank of Ireland as we reached the target of opening 100 second level student accounts,” said teacher Pierce Dargan.
“Our prize was an all expenses paid ‘Match Day Experience’ to a Munster Rugby game, which included 100 student and five adult tickets, buses to and from the game, food vouchers for all and a pre-match meet and greet with members of the Munster team. The girls, teachers and parents that attended had a fantastic day,” said Mr. Dargan.
There’s no let-up in the schedule of activity as the first part of their Meet Our Legends programme will take place in the school on this Thursday, May 12th from 9am to 12.30pm.
Skills Masterclass
The schedule is as follows: 9.15am to 10.45am a skills masterclass from Killian Young, Kerry senior footballer and Aidan Walsh, Cork senior hurler and footballer.
At 11am to 12.30pm a motivational talk from Henry Shefflin – the ten times All-Ireland senior hurling medal winner with Kilkenny and Liam Sheedy, All-Ireland senior hurling team manager with Tipperary.
The second part of the Meet Our Legends will involve the Munster Rugby team coming to the school on a separate day.
