Well done to all those involved in the John West Feile Peile na nÓg weekend. A special word of thanks to our hosts who looked after our guest team, Fenagh of Carlow.
Report: Deirdre O’Sullivan
To the fantastic ladies who looked after the catering in the clubhouse and kept everyone fed and nourished throughout the weekend, as well as those who generously supplied baking, sandwiches and soup.
Míle buíochas to the people who cleaned and prepared the clubrooms and monitored the toilets – ensuring that they were kept clean throughout the two days.
The traffic stewards did a wonderful job and the field committee who had the grounds looking in splendid shape -we sincerely appreciate your time and effort.
We also wish to thank the match officials and those that assisted as umpires and linesmen along with the scoreboard operators.
The Civil Defence ensured all our young players got the best of medical treatment for any injuries -we appreciate your first aid services very much. We are very grateful to those who erected signage and decorations and anyone else that contributed in any way to making the weekend such a fantastic great success.
We would also like to thank Milltown Listry Ladies Football Club and their host team St.Rynagh’s, for joining with us for our farewell party and disco, in the Nagle Rice Community Centre. Thank you to the committee for making this facility available to us.
A special mention, though, must go to the boys and mentors of our U-14 team who were a credit to the club both on and off the field.
Hopefully, they made many new friends and lasting memories over the weekend. Well done to our guest team Fenagh, from Carlow, in qualifying for the final of their division and unlucky not to come away with the spoils.
A bond between our two clubs has been formed that will stand the test of time and lead to future interaction between us.

20th GAA Lotto Anniversary
Our Lotto Anniversary re launch party will be on Friday July 15th. It’s that time of year again to renew your yearly club lotto ticket especially now that the Lotto Jackpot is €8,000! Your club representative should have been in contact with you already. If they haven’t made contact they should be calling to you this coming week. If you prefer, you can give them a call. There are a couple of changes this year that they will explain to you.
As a club, we continue to invest in our club facilities and playing pitch. Our numbers have really grown recently and it’s with your support that we are able to meet such demands and give the young people in our area the opportunity to play team sports and to exercise as often as possible.
On a Thursday evening we have over 150 children between the ages of six and 10 playing fun games on the pitch.
We also provide coaching to all schools in our catchment area throughout the school year. This gives children of all ages and abilities the extra opportunity to play fun games and exercise. Our lotto is our main fundraiser, without which the club would not function.
Thank you for your continued support and loyalty in helping us grow our club and enabling us to offer facilities which allow young people participate in Gaelic Football.
If you know of any neighbour or friend that would like to join our yearly ticket scheme, please let your club representative know.

Many thanks to Mike O’ Shea and sons, Builders for their continued sponsorship of our Lotto.
