Celebrated Dubliner, John Sheahan will be joined by the renowned Inishbofin Islander, Dessie O’Halloran along with local talent, Danny O’Mahony with Cyril O’Donoghue and the added attraction of The Shannon Vale Céilí Band and more. 

This August Bank Holiday weekend sees the return of ‘Live in the Marquee – Ballyduff’, featuring some internationally renowned artists bringing live traditional Irish music, song and dance to the fore in North Kerry.

Two Unique Performances

Two unique performances begin on Saturday July 30th with the visit of the distinguished musician, composer and poet, John Sheahan of The Dubliners fame, live in concert. Joining him on the night will be Ballyduff native, Danny O’Mahony on accordion and Cyril O’Donoghue – bouzouki/vocals from Co. Clare.

Sunday July 31st, live in Concert & Céilí features The Shannon Vale Céilí Band performing alongside the delightful and captivating Inishbofin singer and fiddler Dessie O’Halloran who has toured the world with Sharon Shannon and her band.

Gabriel Fitzmaurice as MC

Celebrated poet and raconteur Gabriel Fitzmaurice from Moyvane will be Master of Ceremonies for the weekend. Guest artists will also include World Champion Step Dancers, Connemara Sean-Nós Dancers, Singers and Seanchaí.

Bumper raffles will be held on each night, with many great prizes sponsored by local businesses. Doors open at 8.30pm; Concerts start at 9.30pm.

 “It’s an honour to host such amazing performers as John Sheahan and Dessie O’Halloran in our village, along with Gabriel Fitzmaurice and all the other visiting performers. It’s going to be a weekend to remember.

“I am very thankful to our local traders and in particular to publican John Walsh for his enthusiasm and support. It will be the highlight of the upcoming bank holiday weekend in North Kerry,” said Danny O’Mahony, presenter and producer of Radio Kerry’s ‘Trip to the Cottage’ programme.

 Seating in the Marquee is limited and tickets €15 are on sale at the following outlets: Variety Sounds Music Shop, College Street, Killarney. Hugh Culloty’s Music Shop, The Mall, Tralee. The Seanchaí Centre, The Square, Listowel. Sheehy’s Londis, Ross’s Centra and Your Man’s Bar, Ballyduff.
