The committee of the ‘Old Folks Homes’ at Riverview Place here in Castleisland invites applications from elderly people in the area for the tenancy of a one bedroom house.
The terrace of houses was built in 1983 and is managed by a committee of local volunteers.
The site was developed by Kerry County Council and the front portion was to be used as a casual trading area – which didn’t come to pass.
In Keeping with the Neighbourhood
However, it’s use nowadays as a children’s playground seems more in keeping with the neighbourhood in general.
The upkeep of the six house terrace has been greatly helped in recent years by regular donations from the Castleisland Races Committee.
Anyone interested in taking up a tenancy there can get further details by contacting Miriam McElligott on 066 71 41673.
