Castleisland Desmonds GAA Club members held their annual general meeting on Friday night.

All outgoing officers were re-elected with the exception of Gerard Murphy who, after two years as PRO, decided not to seek re-election.

Pat Hartnett is the interregnum spokesperson until a successor is found for the once-off Mr. Murphy.

Glowing Tributes

Glowing tributes were paid to Gerard ‘Gerdie’ for the time and energy he put into the job.

The following officers were elected: President: Donal Kelliher; Vice presidents: Dr Dave Geaney, Jim Greaney, John Joe Walsh, Kevin Dillon, Mary Horan and Mary Murphy.

Chairman: Jimmy O’Connell; Joint vice chairmen: Michael John Kearney and Dan Lynch.

Secretary Colm Kirwan. Joint Treasurers: Angela Ring-O’Donoghue and Willie Dom O’Connor.

Executive Meeting

The PRO position is to be filled. County board delegate: Sean Mc Carthy. North Kerry Board delegates: Sean McCarthy and Jimmy O’Connell. St. Kieran’s delegates: Jimmy O’Connell and Thady Twomey.

Insurance officer; Denny Lyons. Scór Officer, Tomás Ó Conchúir. Field development officers: Martin Downey, Thady Twomey and Davy O’Connor. Coaching officer: Willie Dom O’Connor.

The filling of all remaining positions was deferred to the first club executive meeting in early in 2018.
