Even though weather conditions were bitterly cold and wet for most of last year’s Run Rudolph Run Road Race and Fun Run, a starting line-up of 120 people of varying abilities took part and finished.
Firmly Established
The now firmly established, annual Christmas time event will be held at An Ríocht on the coming Sunday, December 9th starting at 11am.
There’s an atmosphere and a feeling at these events which bad weather can never dampen, defeat or quench. It’s the feeling of achievement and elation at getting back into the stadium and onto that last half lap of the track and racing, stepping or falling over the finish line.
Levels of Hospitality
First-timers who visit An Ríocht for these events are always taken in by the levels of hospitality rolled out by the club in appreciation of their participation.
This year the club’s catering corps has decided to include mince pies as part of its post-race refreshments along with other surprise treats and a hot cup of tea/coffee for all its Run Rudolph Run participants and supporters.
Special Run Rudolph Medal
A bulletin from the club kitchen declared that it will be well worth running or walking the 5k for the post race treats and the special Run Rudolph Medal.
Pre-event registrations can be take at the reception desk at An Ríocht for €10 or on the day from 9:30am at €12 per head. In the meantime, registration online costs €10 and you can do that by tapping in the following link:
An Ríocht Mega Sale
An Ríocht Health and Leisure Club will also host a one-day ‘Mega Sale’ of membership for 2019.
On Wednesday, December 12th only and for €250 you can get yourself a present of a healthy start for the new year in that once-off sale.
The offer includes the use of the sauna, steam rooms, Jacuzzi and the athletic track for the entire year.
A club spokesperson said that the annual pre-Christmas offer is proving very attractive as a seasonal gift idea.
Goal Mile on Christmas Morning
In other club news: If you have family and friends around you this Christmas or if you find yourself on your own, the annual Goal Mile at An Ríocht AC grounds is a great way of getting the day off to a healthy start. It may not keep going quite like that but let the seanfhocail: tús maith, leath na hoibre trigger a bit of activity in the morning from 10am.
