Castleisland Members’ Golf Club has organised a ‘Get in to Golf for Juniors’ programme for 12 to 18 year olds which is due to begin on this Saturday, May 11th from 10am to 12pm.
The cost is €6 weekly or €20 for four weeks and is open to both male and female.
Places are limited to 16 juniors only.
Ring to Book
If you know of any juniors who might like to Get into Golf or who might want to take the four week programme they can book their place by ringing the office at the number below.
Back in 2014 the club’s concerted effort on the junior front yielded remarkable results under the stewardship of Brendan Mullins and later Niall Greaney.
Munster Junior Foursomes
A team of made up of: Ronan Cross, Colin McCarthy, David O’Donoghue and James McAuliffe reached the third round of the Munster Junior Foursomes.
The boys came through the opening round which was played in Castleisland in April of that year. Then, they fought off some stiff competitors such as: Tralee, Killarney, Bantry, Killorglin and Ballybunion.
Castleisland Boys Victorious
The Ballybunion juniors were also successfull in coming through round one and the sides were then drawn to play each other in the next round. They met in Beaufort in late April and the Castleisland boys were once again victorious.
Pique the Interest
Dylan Guirey and Connie O’Connor were subs on the team on which Mr. Mullins put in huge time and effort.
Now the Castleisland Members’ Golf Club is seeking to pique the interest of a new crop of golfers to, maybe, retrace the steps of the lads of 2014.
