There won’t be a calf or a cat fed in Currow or Knock tonight as ‘their Rose’ Shana Pembroke, representing Chicago, is scheduled to be first on the RTÉ One show with Dáithí Ó Sé at 8pm.
The 24-year-old graduate student from Chicago, Illinois is the youngest in her family and has two older sisters.
Intervention for Children
Shana is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology and she plans to work as a pediatric speech-language pathologist, providing intervention for children with speech, language and communication impairments.
Her father grew up in Currow and her maternal grandparents are from Knock, Co. Mayo.
Singing, Dancing and Reading
Shana enjoys singing, dancing and reading in her spare time and she’s passionate about advocacy and female empowerment.
She enjoys participating in community theatre productions and she’s humbled and thrilled to be representing her hometown of Chicago in her ‘home-away-from-home’ in Kerry.
The pictures here came from Peter Howarth from an afternoon meeting with the roses in Tralee on Monday afternoon.
