This is a bulletin in acknowledgement of the many people who sent messages and texts in support of the victim of the alleged assault in a flat on Castleisland’s Limerick Road on Friday last.

Suggestions from members of the public here that a GoFundMe page be set up to help with her recovery have been appreciated and received in the spirit in which the idea was prompted.

However, through an intermediary, we find that the lady in question is making a slow but certain recovery in the care of a member of her family.

The family member asked that, more than anything else, she is allowed the time and space to recover from her injuries – seen and unseen.

They wish only for privacy for her in their efforts to help her do just that – and they understand and greatly appreciate the gestures from members of the public here.

A man has been arrested in connection with the alleged assault and the Garda investigation, into the circumstances surrounding the events, are ongoing.
