I got completely caught up in a trip down memory lane this afternoon. I was accidentally rerouted when I found a set of negatives I haven’t seen for 45 years.

A number of the frames on the strip caught my eye in particular. They were of a Castleisland soccer team before a game in Tonbwee on the field where the community college now stands.

I took them on a little pocket Kodak 110 cartridge film camera and in the spring of 1976.

The film is grainy and the photographs dog rough but I was so delighted to find it that I made a film carrier from black paper to adapt it to my scanner.

I can make a fair effort at naming the team but the young supporters have me beaten, though I think I know a couple of them.

I’ll leave the supporter’s names to those who know them for sure and if I get the names in I’ll add them to the caption.
