Do The Right Thing

Our cemeteries are places of repose.  Quiet corners of our parish where our loved ones are laid to rest.

It’s heartening how well cared for the graves are. It’s especially touching to see the unique displays of flowers, plants are memorabilia.

There’s only one area of discord and it’s in the corners of the cemetery where garden grave waste, broken wreaths and other unwanted materials are discarded.

It then falls to a few good citizens to take away this refuse at their own time and expense.

Remove Waste Material

Can we kindly request that you respectfully remove any waste materials that arise from grave maintenance and dispose of it among your own domestic refuse.

All it takes is for one piece of waste dumped in a cemetery corner to wrongly guide others to do likewise.  Let’s all work together for the greater good.  Thank you!

Well Done Lily and Deirdre

A big congratulations to Lily Cox and Deirdre Guiney who were on the Desmonds team that fought valiantly in the All Ireland Semi Final against Castlebar Mitchels at the weekend.

Sadly, they did not prevail on the day but what an incredible achievement for all involved.

Well done, Ladies, you’ve done us proud!
