Members of the public in the Castleisland area are being put on notice that the stretch of the river walk between Church Street and the Crageens Bridge will be closed from this morning, Thursday, August 11th to tomorrow evening, Friday, August 12th.
Representative of Mr. Price – the new owners of the old Woodhaven Stores – have announced that they will be closing off the river walk today for the couple of days in order to carry out emergency safety operations on dangerous trees between the river walk and the building.

These trees have been badly shaken in recent high winds and storms and some are vulnerable to further damage as a result.

The company spokesman said that there will be barriers at each end of the walkway and that they will have staff there to direct the public and to ensure public safety.
