The Knocknagoshel based Spike Players decided to do two one-act plays by Jimmy Keary following on from last year’s successful run with For Better or Worse by the same playwright.

Looking for Love is a gentle comedy set in a Dublin Cafe where Vivienne Maxwell, a lonely woman in her late forties, is waiting to meet Denis Hunt a bachelor of similar age. Vivienne answered his personal ad and is very nervous and feels awkward.

Wedding Night Blues

The second act is Wedding Night Blues set in a dingy Dublin Hotel where Denis and Vivienne are spending the first night of their honeymoon.

The cast, under the direction of Pádraig Dennehy, includes: Josephine Roche, Marian Leahy, Noreen O’Callaghan, Mairead Brosnan and new this year to Spike Players, Woodline man, James Brosnan.

The three staging dates in Knocknagoshel Community Centre are: February 22nd. 24th. 25th. and 26th.  Tickets are €10 and booking can be done on: 087 705 0670.
