The weekly rolling of the drum of An Ríocht Athletic Club’s 50/50 fundraising draw took place at The Green Door Restaurant on Friday afternoon at 4:15pm.
After Chairman Joe Walsh’s obligatory cúpla focal in praise of the hosts, the presentation of the cheque to last week’s winner, Jerome Sheehy was made by club President, Denis Brosnan. Jerome’s ticket won him €570 in last week’s draw at The Forge Restaurant and it was drawn by Helen O’Callaghan of Cordal whose name is now also in the club’s winners’ roll of honour.
To the business of the day: After a few more rolls of the drum by treasurer Bill Costello, Jerome Sheehy did the weekly dip and emerged with the ticket posted by David A. Geaney from the top of the town. David A, a previous winner of the draw and, according to Chairman Joe, a loyal club supporter won €575. Next Friday’s draw will be held at Centra.
