On Sunday last, Ballymacelligott Vintage Club held its 14th annual and very successful car and Honda 50 Run.

The morning began with a cars and coffee event at Ó Riada’s Bar and Restaurant, Ballymacelligott from 9am.

“The weather held well for us, and there was something for everybody to enjoy with over 120 cars and 12 motorbikes registered on the day.

There was a wide array of makes and models from 1950s through to the early 2000s. It was fantastic to have numerous cars and bikes not seen before on their first outing, as well as some unique and rarely seen examples, including: a 1980 Honda 50 recently restored to as new condition; a 1990 3.0 litre Vauxhall Senator; a 1990 Fiat Panda 750cc L ‘Italia 90’ special edition; a 1968 Morris Minor, a project car we might see on the road for next year’s run ? A 1992 Mini Thirty 30th anniversary special edition 1 of 1000 produced in Black.

Two Local Causes

Proceeds on the day were in aid of two local causes: Knocknagoshel Over 55 Services which operates a voluntary led service from the heart of their community – the Knocknagoshel Community Centre from where they currently delivering on average 600 meals a week, while also providing contact with people who live alone who may not have any visitors.
