They played together for about 15 minutes in the international friendly against Italy at Ashbourne RFC grounds in Co. Meath.
While still waiting for her first international cap Sharon was delighted to get a run-out in spite of a damaged shoulder – which she carried into the weekend.
“It was just great to get a game at international standard to get nerves out of the system. Just have to pray I get included in the team for the Six Nations games now and try and get as much experience as possible to build for the World Cup in August. But I was obviously delighted to get a run out against Italy. They didn’t come over for fun, they were still strong and we wanted to try out some plays and different personnel so was a very beneficial game.
I pulled ligaments in my shoulder the Sunday before so I didn’t think I’d be included in the team but I trained on Saturday and I wanted to test it so I was delighted to get some game time. I played beside Siobhan for a while. She and I were both flankers, I was at No. 6 and she was at No. 7.,” said a delighted Sharon.
