Great Welcome for Couch 2-5K Launch in The Mall

Couch 2-5K Launch in Knocknagoshel 22-1-2014There was a huge welcome for the launch of the Knocknagoshel Couch 2-5K Training Programme at the Willie Walsh Park GAA Grounds on Wednesday night.
Joggers, runners and walkers in the area now have their very own programme to follow with ample lighting, parking and security facilities to go with it.
Wednesday night was the start of a 10-week programmme and will be held at the GAA grounds on a twice-weekly basis.
“We were delighted with the turnout on Wednesday night – we had over 100 locals and a few from outside the area. After the 10 week programme we will have a local 5k run. The programme is being set up with the help of Knocknagoshel National School Parents’ Association,” said organising group member, Eileen O’Connor.
“We are hoping to get all of the school going children and their parents to participate and of course anyone else who is interested in taking up running.
We will hold the sessions on Wednesday evenings at 7pm and Saturday mornings at 10:30am. A fee of €2 for adults and €1 for children applies,” said Eileen who is joined in the leadership role by: Richard Murphy, Liam Bell and Miriam Brosnan.
