John Buckley from Killarney was selected by Sinn Féin to run in the Killarney Electoral area.

Mr. Buckley, 43, is from St. Brendan’s Terrace in Killarney and he was educated in the Mercy Convent and the Vocational Secondary School in the town.

He is married to Mary Horgan from Dalton’s Avenue and they have one daughter, Leah, aged 17.

An avid angler, John Buckley is a member of the Lough Leane Angling Association and the Killarney Salmon and Trout Anglers Association.

He is the PRO of the Trout Angling Association of Ireland; he has been appointed captain of the Irish Trout Angling team heading to the European Championships in Sweden later this year.

John also has a huge passion for GAA and supports his local team Dr Crokes.

He is a founding member of the local Sinn Féin Cumann in Killarney in the late 1990’s.
