St Mary’s Basketball Club Senior Awards ceremony was held in Tom Mc Carthy’s Bar on Saturday night. Medal presentations were made on the night to: the U-18 girls who won the Co League and Cup, the Division 2 Ladies who won the Co. League and to the Division 3 Men who won the Co. League also. MVP awards were presented to the following: Denise Dunlea, U-18 Girls MVP; Aoife Nolan, U-20 Ladies MVP; Doreen Bradley, Division 2 Ladies MVP; Darragh McCarthy, Division 2 Men Team 1 MVP;
Richard Nolan, Division 2 Men Team 2 MVP; Daniel Egan, Division 2 Men Team 3 MVP; Miriam Leane, National League Ladies MVP and John Galvin, National League Men MVP.
Presentations were also made on the night to the club’s National League Men’s team sponsors, Garvey’s SuperValu and Tom Mc Carthy’s Bar who sponsored the Ladies National League team.
Denise Dunlea has also been named as Basketball Ireland’s Young Player of the Year for the 2013/14 season. Denise will be presented with her award in Dublin on May 31st.
