2014 Denny / Kerry Community Games Launched

The official launch of the 2014 Kerry Community Games Athletics Finals was held here in Castleisland on this Monday morning. The magnificent An Ríocht Athletic Club stadium provided the venue and the backdrop to the unveiling of this most important event in Kerry’s sporting calendar.

The event, sponsored by Denny, will take place at the same venue on Saturday, June 21st and Sunday 22nd.

The games will attract a host of competitors representing towns, villages and communities from across the county.

The Kerry Community Games gives every child in the county the opportunity to participate in and enjoy the benefits of sport.

“The Kingdom’s finest young athletes will be striving to qualify to compete in the National Community Games Finals in Athlone in August. We are looking forward to a weekend of outstanding athletic performances,” said Kerry Community Games County secretary, Margaret Culloty.

The Denny Community Games Athletics Finals feature a full list of track and field events

which will attract competitors from all quarters of the county.

Over 2,000 young people will come to Castleisland in pursuit of a gold medal and that elusive passport to Athlone to the National Finals.
