Seasoned followers agreed that the crowd at Tralee’s Mounthawk Park for the tied Denny Premier A League Final between Castleisland AFC and Listowel Celtic was the biggest and most enthusiastic they’d seen there in a long time.

That was on June 9th and three full weeks ago.  Today at 2pm. they must face each other again at the same venue. The crowd is likely to be as big and as enthusiastic as before – so a great final replay is in store.

The destination of the title and the associated silverware will be well known by 5pm this evening – that’s allowing for extra time and the dreaded penalty shoot-out – should it come to that.

Good luck to both clubs – with a heavier sprinkle on the Castleisland side. There’ll be another memorable night at Tom McCarthy’s at No. 40 Main Street if that sprinkle falls on the shoulders of the Islanders. That it may then!
