The centre has secured funding to allow support group sessions to go ahead this September.

A spokesperson for the Kerry Rape & Sexual Abuse Centre is pleased to announce that they have secured funding from the Sisters of Mercy Solidarity Trust to run a 12 week facilitated Support Group for Adult Survivors of Sexual Abuse commencing in September 2014.

These groups provide a confidential, safe environment where victims can support each other. This mutual support helps to decrease feelings of isolation and secrecy often associated with Sexual Abuse.

In the words of past Group Participants;

Sharing my story in the group, with people I could identify with and who supported and understood me, has been liberating.”

“This group will have an everlasting positive effect on me to carry into the future, and I am certain that others who follow me will also benefit in the way I did.”
