The second in the ‘Handed Down’ series of talks / lectures / music will be held in Scartaglin Heritage Centre on the coming Saturday night, October 4th at 8pm sharp.

“They will share rare recordings of the late locals like:  Terry ‘Cuz’ Teahan; Jerry McCarthy; brothers, Paddy and Willie O’Connell; Denis McMahon and others. Murt Collins is travelling from Clare to sing a few songs and remember his brother the fiddler Jerh R.I.P.

The youthful duo, Conor Daly and Maura O’Connor will open proceedings at 8 pm sharp and Tom O’Connell, Niall O’Connor will continue with Cormac O’Mahony and Paddy Jones,” said series founder, PJ Teahan.

Con Moynihan, Charlie Nelligan and P.J Teahan will remember artist and badly missed friend, Mike Kenny on the night. Highly rated Dublin fiddle player Aidan Connolly is travelling down and looking forward to a tune up the village afterwards. Admission: Adult €6 Children €3.

The event, like all the eight in the planned series is a fundraiser for Kerry’s third annual World Fiddle Day celebrations which is due to be held in Scartaglin again in May 2015.
