On Saturday, October 11th. Cordal GAA Club will host a Night At the Dogs at the Kingdom Greyhound Stadium in Tralee.

The club was due to hold a Greyhound Rag Meeting early this year but had to cancel due to lack of entries. However, in early August planning got under way to organise a Night at the Dogs.

It has been fourteen years since the club held a night at the greyhound track and with the juvenile football winding down for the season, what better way to finish up the year than in the company of neighbours and friends. The first race is due to start at 7.50pm.

“The support the club has received over the last numbers years from the community and surrounding areas has been both inspiring and encouraging.

We wish to convey our sincere thanks to all our members, supporters and our very generous sponsors and all who have helped the club in any way,” said spokesperson, Nora Fealey.

“There will be ten main race sponsors on the night and Cordal GAA Club want to reassure all businesses and companies

who placed an advertisement with us over the last few months, that all adverts will be honoured in our racing programme on the night,” said Nora.

Over the last two years the club has spent €180,800 on the redevelopment of the pitch and surroundings. But there’s still more work to be carried out before the completion of this impressive project.

“We would encourage all our members, families and friends to come on out and show your support in what is expected to be a great night at the dogs. Tickets are €10 each and are available from all club officers or by contacting  087 2056150. There will also be a chance to win vouchers up to €500. from Garvey’s SuperValu as a gate prize on the night. Children under 16 years of age will gain admission free when accompanied by an adult,” Nora concluded.
