Currow writer’s work to Screen at The Ivy Leaf

A new film An Bean Sidhe will have a special screening at the Ivyleaf Art Centre in Castleisland at 8pm on this Saturday night, October 25th. The screening is for contributors who raised the capital to have the short film made.

An Bean Sidhe was written by Currow native, Eoin O’Sullivan. Eoin received the ‘Golden Blaster Award’ for Best Screenplay at the Irish Science Fiction awards in October 2013.

The film tells the story of Christian McCarthy, a young Irish man who lives in the rural village of Derryflynn. Christian keeps himself entertained by playing pranks, usually at  expense of everyone else. However, his latest scheme takes a nasty turn when a Banshee takes exception to it.

Set against the stunning scenery of Kilmacow, Kilkenny, the film stars Nick Hurt and Becky Phelan with Marian Rose playing the titular character and featuring Damien Tiernan, RTE Southeast correspondent.

An Bean Sidhe is directed by award winning director, Paul Lynch.
