The community here is saddened this morning at the news of the sudden passing of Conor O’Mahony at the weekend.

Late of Cahernard and of J.K. O’Connor’s Drapery and Travel Agents, Mr. O’Mahony was predeceased by his wife, Phil only last August 11th.

An avid angler and fowler, Conor inherited The Market House from his uncle, Maurice J.K. O’Connor. Both he and Phil were prominent members of Castleisland Bridge Club and he was playing up to the time of his sudden passing on Sunday.

The late Mr. O’Mahony will repose in Tangney’s Funeral Home here in Castleisland on Tuesday evening from 5pm to 7pm.

There will be a private cremation ceremony on Wednesday after 11am Mass.

Sincere sympathies go to the family members: Tadhg, Deirdre, Cormac and Muiris, son-in-law, daughters-in-law and grand-children.

Conor’s passing is another great loss at the end of a trying year for them all and we join with the community in offering our condolences.

May God be good to him.
