Thieves Hit Community College after Open Night

Gardai in the locality are investigating a break-in and theft of a substantial sum of money at Castleisland Community College on Thursday night / Friday morning.

The college had just organised a hugely successful ‘Open Night’ which drew a great attendance from the town and surrounding parishes earlier that night.

A spokesperson at the college said that while there was no great amount of damage done, the raiders knew exactly what they were after and they knew where to find it.

“There just happened to be a sizable sum of money in the safe from all that was going on here and they got that,” said the spokesperson.
