Members of Mná le Chéile met at the River Island Hotel recently for their first Christmas lunch as a group. Established in January of this year, it has 20 members and they meet on a weekly basis.
They organise various activities or information mornings and they’ve had Salsa Dancing, Yoga Classes and talks on nutrition to date and day trips to various tourist attraction and events such as the National Ploughing Championships.
“The group was set up out of a need for a social connection and wouldn’t be part of a self help group.

Through this we have created a network of friends with whom we have developed a strong bond,” a spokesperson explained.
“We share skills, have various classes such as: crafts and cookery, regular outings, meditation and life skills sessions.
It’s tremendous fun – we have a laugh and a giggle and we have learned to trust each other so much that we feel comfortable to leave some boundaries dow. And that within itself gives a huge amount of freedom to the heart and spirit.
May we have many more years of learning with laughter and fun,” she concluded.
