A note from Kathleen Hannigan puts out an alert for all that the Kilcummin Rambling House will take place tonight, Friday 6th and, on the first Friday of each month – in the Kilcummin GAA Clubhouse from 8.30pm.
Admission is free. The entertainment of the night will be punctuated by tea and braic agus caint agus craic agus beidh fáilte mór isteach roimh gach cuirteóir.
The Bean a’Tí tonight will be the legendary Bridie Garvey who spearheaded the highly successful Scartaglin Rambling House for the past four years.
Describing the Kilcummin recreation of the age old tradition, Bridie feels that there’s a great mix of young and old coming to the monthly events.
“There’s such a wealth of talent in Kilcummin and the yopung people are getting used to playing here now that they’re looking forward to it.
The good thing about it now is that there are tourists beginning to show up there.
We had a Spanish lady there one of the more recent nights and she got into it and enjoyed it so much that we got over even the language barrier. I’m enjoying it and since I moved to Killarney at the end of last year it’s quite close to me,” said Bridie.
