Sliabh Luachra Boxing Club members were jubilant last night at the news that Saoirse Kelly had boxed her way into an All-Ireland final at the famed National Stadium in Dublin.

Saoirse defeated Clodagh Greene from the South-Meath Boxing Club in the National Cadets Championship qualifiers
This is a huge win for the Glenflesk boxer as Ms. Greene boxed for Ireland against Sweden in an International tournament just last month.

Saoirse Kelly returns to the National Stadium next weekend for the finals of the competition.

One of the most dedicated members of the Castleisland based club, Saoirse will have the support of her family, Sliabh Luachra Boxing Club members and friends behind her in her fantastic achievement.

Needless to say they’ll be willing her on in her attempt to take that final step to becoming an All-Ireland Champion next weekend.
Under the shining example and influence of Katie Taylor’s unrivaled achievements, boxing clubs around the country have seen a huge influx of girls signing up to the highly disciplined sport.

The Sliabh Luachra Boxing Club, which operates in the NEKD building at The Crageens, is no different and this latest achievement by Saoirse Kelly will boost the membership further.
