The death has been announced of Pat McMahon, Churchtown, Castleisland.
Pat, a former Castleisland Desmonds footballer and athlete, musician, singer and gentleman.
Enjoying company, chatting and music was Pat’s way of relaxing. Knocking a few tunes out of the box or singing if the company was into it was no bother to him. He often joined Jackie Dan Jerry O’Connor during his regular Friday night sessions at Brennan’s Bar. He didn’t enjoy the best of health over the past few years but he made the best of the hand he got.

PEACEFULLY, IN THE LOVING CARE OF THE MATRON AND STAFF OF OUR LADY OF LOURDES NURSING HOME, KILCUMMIN. SADLY MISSED BY HIS LOVING WIFE MARIE, SONS KEVIN (CHICAGO) AND BRIAN, DAUGHTERS MAUREEN (CHICAGO) AND COLLEEN, SONS-IN-LAW, DAUGHTERS-IN-LAW, 8 GRANDCHILDREN, BROTHER DENIS, AUNTS, ALL EXTENDED FAMILY, RELATIVES, NEIGHBOURS AND A LARGE CIRCLE OF FRIENDS. REPOSING AT TANGNEY’S FUNERAL HOME, CASTLEISLAND, ON SATURDAY EVENING FROM 5PM TO 7PM, FOLLOWED BY REMOVAL TO CASTLEISLAND PARISH CHURCH. REQUIEM MASS ON SUNDAY AT 11.30AM. BURIAL AFTERWARDS IN ST. JOHN’S CEMETERY CASTLEISLAND.
