Darragh Curtin’s Achievements Honoured in Browne’s

It’s a sign of the wealth of musical talent in the Sliabh Luachra area that, for the second time in a matter of twelve months, Browne’s Bar threw an impromptu cake and candles celebration for a major musical achievement.

Brosna’s Darragh Curtin was in session in Browne’s with his twin sister, Suzanne and brother Gearóid when Peter Browne broke into a rare, speech mode.
Backing his cupla focal was a massive cake with a photograph of the O Riada Gold Medal winner printed on it.

Peter told the gathering of the pride the music loving locality had in the 18-year-old’s achievement in that and in winning the Fiddler of Dooney competition in Sligo last October.
It was the first opportunity for locals to see the highly talented family in session together since Darragh’s near incredible and surely record setting achievements.
Close enough to this time last year, Browne’s also honoured Bryan O’Leary on his winning the TG4 Gradam Cheoil Young Musician Award.
