Think Safety For RÁS Mumhan on Good Friday

The 2015 stage details for the Kerry Group Ras Mumhan International Cycle Race have been announced. The 500km Cycle Race will start on Good Friday, April 3rd and finish four days later on Easter Monday morning, April 6th.

Stage 1, on Good Friday, will pass through Scartaglin and Castleisland late on that afternoon at an estimated 5.06pm in Scart and at 5.17pm through Castleisland.
Apart from the colour and excitement the race brings to the places it touches, there is a huge safety aspect to it all.The organisers are at pains limit to stress that this is not a leisure cycle and that the participants will be going hell for leather along the route.

The organisers are asking that home and field gates be secured on the day and that family pets be kept under control for the brief period the race will be in your area.
The approximate times are as follows: Killorglin: 3.30pm start; Fossa at 3.55; Killarney at 4.00; Kilcummin at 4.10; Quarry Cross at 4.32; Knocknaboul Cross at 4.51; Scartaglin at 5.06; Castleisland at 5.17; Currans at 5.30; Ballyfinnane at 5.40; Firies at 5.46; Milltown at 6.00 and back to the finish in Killorglin at 6.12pm.

“We ask the Public to co-operate with the Gardai and the stewards as the race passes your area. Safety is important, please keep dogs under control. The roads will be busy with racing cyclists, support vehicles and spectators so expect traffic delays,” said race organising group member, Tadhg Moriarty.  Many of the present and rising stars of cycling today will be in the race and the details are available on: www.rasmumhan.com
