Notifications this weekend of birthdays of friends. So, Happy Birthdays to: Esther Murphy, Castleisland; Mary Jones, Glounthane and Ballymacelligott; Karie O’Toole, Killarney and Delia O’Donoghue, Castleisland and less recently to Margaret Nolan, Castleisland.
And a leap of generations to Karen Perfect who celebrated her 21st at The Shoemaker’s on Saturday night.
In tribute to my colorful and forever young friends – here’s something I photographed yesterday. This little ‘Small Tortoiseshell Butterfly’ was shaking himself from his hibernation on Easter Sunday.
The little creature can also be a icon for those who may not be feeling well and may be in need of a hint of inspiration from nature itself.
Here, after months of darkness and drowsiness, this little metaphor for all life forms is opening up to the possibilities of brightness and whatever the awakening rays of the warm sun will bring to it.
