Castleisland Tidy Towns Committee is holding a public meeting on this Thursday, April 16th in the River Island Hotel at 7p.m.
“We’re appealing to those already involved in Tidy Towns in all areas of the town to attend. We’d especially like to invite people interested in becoming involved in helping us out over  the coming season. We will be outlining our plans for the coming year and offering advice to groups on any queries they might have. We hope that people will show an interest in the town by turning up to the meeting,” said spokesperson, Mary Walsh.
The annual Kerry Waste Disposal (KWD) county clean up takes place on this Saturday, April 18th. “We are looking for volunteers to tackle stretches of road in their areas. Most people will be familiar with the format for this annual foray on the county’s roads which is sponsored and spearheaded by KWD.
Bags, gloves etc will be provided at the meeting for anyone willing to help out. The annual Spring Clean is also taking place during the month of April and we also have the bags for that. It should be noted that there are designated drop off areas for the litter collected and only the special bags provided will be collected. It is also important to note that these are not general waste collections and that they are only for the litter collected,” said Mary
