The Right2Water, Castleisland group will hold their second protest march against the imposition of water charges on this Saturday, April 25th. in Castleisland.

The march will commence at 2pm from Herbert Bridge on the Killarney Road and proceed through Main Street. It will conclude with speeches by invited activists and politicians in the car park in front of the new library.

Local, Kerry Right2Water groups and those from neighbouring Cork and Limerick have been invited to participate.

“The anti-water charge campaign is now entering a critical phase with the arrival of initial bills to homes and apartments across Ireland.

We, in Right2Water, are supporting a campaign of mass non-compliance including the refusal to pay bills, engage in any way with Irish Water and continue to actively campaign against this charge and other austerity measures,” said group PRO, John O’Sullivan.

“We look ahead to further battles to preserve the status of the Irish people’s greatest national resource as public property for the good of the many – and not the gain of the few, through privatisation,” said Mr. O’Sullivan.
