All Hands on Deck for Cordal’s Jamboree Weekend

It seems to be all systems go in the Cordal area as the local GAA club prepares for two of its busiest weekends in living memory.  Club officers and a willing team of volunteers are putting the finishing touches to the grounds as the weekend nears.

The first up is the Cordal Jamboree Weekend. This which will kick off on this Friday, May 29th with a 5K fun run / leisurely walk at 7.30pm.
Registration will take place at Cordal Community Centre from 6.30pm. Entry fee is €10 per adult and a child rate of €5 while a family can enter for €20. There will be with refreshments and prizes afterwards.
The officers of Cordal GAA Club are tight lipped as they secretly prepare for a special ‘This Your Life’ on Saturday, May 30th starting at 10pm in the clubhouse bar. It is advisable  to come early and music on the night will be provided by Mike Williams.

Fun and Sports Day
The annual Cordal Family Fun and Sports Day will kick off at 12.30 pm on Sunday and will include an non pedigree dog show. A children’s puppet show and a disco will also take place in the Community Centre from 4.30pm to 6.30pm.
At 7.30 it will be the turn of the Cordal footballers to entertain the crowd as they pair off in a friendly challenge game.  Afterwards, in the purposely built marquee, patrons can dance the night away to Catriona and High Country with admission to the marquee only €5.
Please note there is no admission fee to the clubhouse bar. What a better way to see off the weekend than by taking part in a monster Car Treasure Hunt. This highlight of the annual Cordal festival has the Thadie Rob O’Donoghue Memorial Trophy as a prize and the cars will leave Hughes Bar at 3.pm.
