Divanes Castleisland to Mark Happy VW 60th

It was, probably the first word/s of the German language that most of us learned in our formative years. But then,Volkswagen has been a household name in the Castleisland area since the mid 1950s.

On the coming Monday, June 15th ‘Divanes Castleisland’ will celebrate its 60th year of association with Volkswagen.

Some of the major figures on the VW Ireland scene will be in Castleisland on Monday to help the Divane family celebrate this amazing milestone in the business. It’s a remarkable milestone in any business.

Divanes is an institution in the motoring trade in Ireland. From its Killarney Road, Castleisland base, Divanes has been main Volkswagen dealer for Kerry since 1954.

However, an important anniversary in the development of the family business will underline an exceptional service spanning six decades come Monday.

Divanes has been thriving since the company was established by the late Stanley Divane, who entered the motor trade in 1935. Stanley decided to go it alone and ventured into business in 1954 and Divanes was born.

He sold his first new Volkswagen on the 15th of June 1955 and the business has never looked back since that very day.

Having spent the best part of 56-years in the motor trade, the pioneering Stanley passed away in 1991 leaving the business in the capable hands of his sons, Denis and John and daughter Philomena, who carry on the family tradition of supplying Volkswagens finest to the local community.

Divane’s ‘Dos’ are legendary and there’s no reason to believe that Monday’s celebrations will be any different. For more information on Divanes Castleisland simply click here: http://www.divane.ie/
